To illuminate instrument or deck floor without to disturb the night vision

Red

This color make a good contrast between material and colors. Perfect to light up instrument panels and control outfits. Less good to illuminate deck floor - light color will be liter and dark will be darker. Red signs into the chart will be invisible.

Green
Our "green" have a portion of yellow into it. This make interior decoration be visible close to white light and you will see all colors in the chart. The eye may see both green and red plus other colors around without too much distortion. But the contrast into instrument panels are less than in red light.

Note. The eye have a treasure around 1-1,5 candela (light intensity) and the color are of less importance for this level or less.

To light up areas, cabinets etc.

White
The white light will be a good choice if cabinets shall be illuminated. White give also a good contrast between different materials. But is the target to light up the cabin, the warmwhite light will give a bit nicer atmosphere, more like candle lights. White lights have a brightness to high not to set down your night vision.

Other colors
Other colors like blue, yellow, bright red, bright green etc. are more for design a special light effect but can give a very "interesting" touch.
