Why do certain SureLite have five LED's other only three?
Depending on the LED's construction, some LED's have lower, some higher voltage drop.

Is it possible to connect direct to 12V?
Yes, also to 24V. The voltage range are 10,5 till 32V or 10,5 to 18V (SP-type). If you connect the wire to wrong polarity, nothing happens but it don't goes on.

Why so low power?.
The LED's are very efficient - most of the power converts to light .

Do SureLite shine more at a higher voltage tension?
No, our construction include a current stabilizer.

How much power takes a SureLite?
Depending on actual voltage. At 12V may be the power are 1/4W but at 24V it is 1/2W.

Why higher power consumption at 24V?
Since the current keeps stabilized, the "overvoltage" will be heat.

What happens with lower voltage than 10,5V?
SureLite loose light below 10,5V and will fade out at 7-8V.

Is it possible to connect to mains?
No, of course not. It breaks direct and will be a life danger.

How are the life time of a LED?
A LED may keep over 50% of its brightness for 30,000 to 100,000 running hours. After several years shining, it will slowly fade out.

Is it possible to use SureLite into water?
Yes, but the life time may be shortened depending on corrosion.

Is it possible to use SureLite in explosive environment?
Yes, you can use SureLite in hazardous places, i.e. gasol boxes etc. There are no open circuits nor switches.

How bright is a SureLite?
Basically there are two types. One type for illumination without to take your night vision away (night light) and one type for just illumination. Can be compared up to a 15W halogen lamp in the light area.

Is it possible to use a dimmer with a SureLite?
Yes, but you must use a dimmer with pulse modulation. Mitron's dimmer are such a type.

How about connecting a SureLite to other batteries than boat batteries?
Yes of course, the voltage have to be more than 10,5V. I.e. 8 of 1,5V batteries in series will run the SureLite for several days.

Why so ugly?
Focus is put on a well working and well functioning light and it is supposed to be placed as discreet as possible. You should see the light, not the unit.

Why so expansive?
We make the SureLite in Sweden and put effort to make a high quality unit. To give the unit extra resistance against water, all internal space are filled with waterproof compound.
